IX CHEL

IX CHEL was the Mayan goddess of pregnancy and labour, the snake goddess of water and the moon.  Her lover was the sun, but he grew jealous and IX CHEL grew weary of his behaviour.  She left his home and his bed to wander the night as she wished, making herself invisible whenever he came near.  Instead she spent her energies in nursing the women of the earth through pregnancy and childbirth.

IX CHEL represents our power to do as we please, not giving way to insecurities and jealousy.  The feminine nature is to procreate and to nurture and we have the power and the right to do this free from interference and negativity.
