HINA

The greatest Polynesian goddess, HINA was the goddess of the moon, she was the first female from whom all others sprang, she was also a warrior goddess protecting her people, and finally she was the goddess of death.  HINA represents all phases of life but she herself was not subject to them.  Every time she began to show her years HINA would go surfing and come back renewed and restored.

HINA is the representation of the fullness of womanhood.  We play many roles - bringer of life, protector, and nurturer in death.  It is in playing these roles that we are forever renewed.
