APASINASEE

Among the Inuit, APASINASEE was the mother of humanity.  When APASINASEE's mate was killed she was no longer able to feed all of her children.  APASINASEE mournfully sent some of them away on a magical ship, and they disappeared.  The few that stayed with their mother became the Inuit.

APASINASEE represents our ability to make difficult choices in order to survive during times of adversity.  The world is a less than perfect place and things happen over which we have no control.  The most important thing in life is not what happens to us, but how we deal with what happens to us.  Tragedy strikes - do we cave into negativity and despair or continue to love and nurture ourselves and our loved ones?
